Design Festival

State of the Union

05.29.2009

The Bite:
Greetings, fellow Biters. It is an honor to stand here before you to say: Union Design Festival is this Sunday. During the mind-blowing fest (formerly known as Capsule), the streets of Hayes Valley will play host to more than a hundred local indie designers: Biter l-o-v-e Kittin Hawk representing her feathery, leathery wearables, Ho On The Go overnight kits (complete with water-based lube, naturally), organic screen-printed tees for the boys by San Franpsycho, and all sorts of repurposed arty wares from Rare Device. Thank you and good night.
Why Care?:
Supporting local designers that repurpose old stuff into new stuff cuts back on textile waste, opting for organic cotton keeps pesticide use to a minimum - and you'll rock a hot look in the process.
You don't have to spend to have fun - Hayes Valley goes off on festival day, so you can grab a Blue Bottle and perch your sexy self on Patricia's Green to people watch to the sound of rotating DJs.
Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

George Washington gave the first State of the Union address in NYC in 1790.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters opt for an organic cotton tee instead of one made from conventional cotton, we'll keep the weight of 17 American presidents in pesticides out of the environment.
