Think exploding stars are just for nerds with telescopes? Not anymore - check out SF's new eco-chic super Nova Nail Spa. When you plunk yourself down in its Kirei board eco-chairs for a mani-pedi, you can breathe easy - almost all the products it uses are organic and nontoxic, avoiding hormone-disrupting chems like phthalates found in conventional nail polish. (We painted our toes with Got the Blues for Red, with a bikini wax on the side.) Nova nailed the construction test too - everything from the spa's insulation to its bathroom tile was built with green materials, keeping offgassing chemicals out of your bod. Exploding brain cells may sound cool, but we'd prefer to keep the few we have intact.
