Sycamore More More

The Bite:
How do you like it, how do you like it? If you like it free, arty, and public, cruise by Civic Center to catch artist Patrick Dougherty's 18,000 pounds of willow saplings cut from Pescadero's The Willow Farm, wrapped around the knobby sycamore trees in the plaza across from City Hall. Result: some seriously slick-looking human-size nest art (no, you can't live there – we asked). PD has used tree saplings as his medium for decades, crafting nature-made art around the world, and proving that fascinating art doesn't require asthma-inducing chems like the ammonia, formaldehyde, or turpentine in conventional art supplies. The installation'll be up through November, and it's free - how's that for love?

Cocktail Fact

“More More More” singer Andrea True appeared in more than 60 hard-core porn films throughout the '70s and early to mid-'80s.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters get their art fix with nature-made art instead of conventional paints and glues, we’ll cut back on the 36 billion pounds of toxic solvents produced each year.

Thanks for sharing this information with your readers. Just one small correction. It is Patrick Dougherty not "Peter". Thanks!
