The Upper Crust

The Bite:
imageWhen it comes to pizza, are you a bit of a snob? Don't fret, dahling - now you can go top shelf at the new California Street Delfina Pizza. DP's second home - which served its inaugural dinner last night - packs twice the space of the 18th Street original, and serves up saucy pies with ingreds sourced primarily from the Noe Valley Farmers Market (transport emissions are sooo tacky). Slide up to the counter - made of FSC-certified wood, ditto the tables - order the pizza of the day, loaded with fresh, local produce (or the Clam Pie...mmm) to eat in or take out in compostable to-go packaging, and admire gorgeous works of art by local muralist Hannah Stouffer. Cap it off with a scoop of the day's housemade gelato. Rich.
Wanna Try:
Delfina Pizza, 2046 California St. b/t Fillmore and Steiner Sts. (415-440-1189). Clam Pie, $17.

Cocktail Fact

That's amore: Americans consume about 23 pounds of pizza per person each year.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 SF Biters eat a locally sourced meal once a week for a year, we'll save enough gas to drive round-trip from SF to LA three times.
