If 500 SF Biters leave just $5 in tips at Elixir tomorrow night, we'll raise enough funds to line about 10 SF blocks with trees.
The space that Elixir occupies (on the corner of 16th and Guerrero Sts.) has been a saloon of one kind or another since 1858.

Wanna do whatever you want (i.e. drink) and still help save the world? OK, last time we pulled your leg about saving trees, but seriously: Tomorrow you can pull up a stool to the mahogany bar at Elixir and raise money for Friends of the Urban Forest. Whether you have a locally brewed Speakeasy Hunter's Point Porter or an organic chocolate mint mojito, from 7 p.m. on, all tips will go directly to FUF's coffers (and you'll get fast service with four volunteers behind the bar). Fund greener SF streets, and take a bite out of global warming in the process? We'll settle down for that.
