SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 Biters substitute their yearly tuna consumption with more sustainable fish, we'll keep 850 tuna swimming in the oceans every year.

COCKTAIL FACT

Now everyone can sleep with the fishes: Two mortuaries recently built artificial reefs off the coast of Florida where loved ones can deposit cremated remains.

Eat With the Fishes

The Bite

image

No one wants to sleep with the fishes, but eating with 'em ain't bad. The secrets: 1) Never talk Family business with outsiders, and 2) hit up the two-day Cooking for Solutions extravaganza at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, where you can watch the fishes (including the superrad jellyfishes) while you snack on samples from 55 local restaurants (jackpot: Chez Panisse) and drink to eco-friendly wineries such as Quivira. Saturday, get tips on incorporating sustainable ingredients into your meals in a tasty way with demos by peeps like SF's Stuart Brioza (of Rubicon fame), or tour local wineries and farms. Food Network's Alton Brown will even give a special presentation while diving inside the aquarium's Kelp Forest. Beats a trip to the bottom of the Hudson River...
