SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 SF Biters use no-VOC paint instead of conventional paint, we'll keep the weight of 1,857 soccer players in nasty chems out of circulation.

Keep a Cole Head - Home Improvement Week

The Bite

image

Had it with the leaky faucet and bulb burnouts? Before you blow another gasket, fix 'em already. Kick off our home improvement week with a few eco-friendly supplies, which are now supereasy to locate at Cole Hardware, thanks to its green stickers (see photo). Pick up starter fireplace logs made from recycled cardboard or Safer's biodegradable caterpillar spray for your garden. It'll hook you up with the goods and the know-how to tackle small repairs (like replacing a toilet seat - and no, we won't tell you how it happened) or bigger challenges like building a drying rack for your laundry. While you're at it, bring in your old latex paint, batteries, scrap metal, or CFLs for free recycling. Cool.

Wanna Try

Cole Hardware, 956 Cole St. at Parnassus St. (415-753-2653); click here for more locations. Safer caterpillar spray, $13/8 oz.
