Maker’s Dozen
The Bite
Knead some inspiration to help channel your DIY cravings? Throw some new treats into your mix at the Maker Faire, the annual two-day festival that celebrates the craftier side of life. Join the 40,000-strong crowd to see returning faves such as the 2∏r (not eco, but we'll cop to a touch of pyromania), and also play with and learn how to make cool stuff like home hydroponics systems (for chem-free tomatoes), wallets out of cereal boxes, and bikes out of scrap parts - saving waste and giving your inner inventor some love. After we check out the bartending robots, you'll find us sewing some new clothes and grabbing a handful of organic bath salts. No half-baked ideas here.
