SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 SF Biters make a point of driving 300 miles in one day for no apparent reason, we'll spew the weight of seven blue whales in CO2 into the atmosphere. Or not.

COCKTAIL FACT

Set your pranking brake: On April Fools' Day in 2003, car-maker Mini took out ads in Australian newspapers for its new "vertical parking locator" that allowed the cars to park on the sides of buildings.

Race the Consequences - April Fools’ Day

The Bite

image

Wish your car could reverse the ugly effects of global warming? Speed over to Treasure Island this weekend and join other amateur drivers in Bourgeois Tree's first-annual Race for the Trees. Whether you've got a hybrid or a Hummer, you can floor it over the course's 6-mi TI street loop for 300 mi of NASCAR-esque fun. And since roads won't be blocked off, you'll be able to show residents how much you care about the forest. Sign-up fees from the anticipated field of 6,000 racers will pay for the planting of up to 15 trees to fight greenhouse gases, and the winner will get $20 donated to Greenpeace in their honor. We can certainly handle those results.

Wanna Try

Race for the Trees; Apr. 5, 9 a.m.; meet at Second St. and Avenue A, Treasure Island. Entry fee, $450; registration required: Just print and sign the 17-page application and bring six hard copies to the starting line.
