SMALL CHANGES ADD UP

If 10,000 SF Biters walk, bike, or take Muni to the festival, we'll keep the weight of more than two statues of David in CO2 out of the atmosphere.

COCKTAIL FACT

Contrary to belief, Michelangelo painted the Sistine Chapel standing up, not lying on his back, and even wrote a sonnet describing his discomfort.

The Bite

Looking for a fresco way to take in some free music? Paint a divine Earth Day celebration at the Green Apple Festival this weekend. The day features a free concert kicked off by the Bay Area's own Brett Dennen (see photo) and wrapped up by headliner Mickey Hart (one of Grateful Dead's drummers). Aspiring politicos can hear state reps like Fiona Ma and Mark Leno speak, and action groups'll be in attendance if you're feeling motivated (we'll probably be checking out the eco-clothing booths). The whole shebang is paperless and carbon-neutral, and Green Apple's also helping to offset emissions and beef up recycling for concerts at SF music venues like Mezzanine and The Knockout throughout the weekend. A masterpiece.
