Will Slow for a Sip
The Bite
But we'll full-on stop for a pint. (Or four.) Hit the brakes for tomorrow's Slow Beer Festival, where nearly a dozen Bay Area breweries, such as SF's Magnolia Brewing and Thirsty Bear will offer all-you-can-drink "tastings" of more than 25 locally crafted beers, from pilsners to stouts. And if that's not enough calories for ya, rest easy: Local food purveyors like Hog Island Oyster Co. and Bodega Goat Cheese will be on hand to serve up snacks. With each Blue Bell Bitter or organic Polar Bear Lager you drink (in lieu of the nonlocal stuff you normally chug), you're decreasing emissions caused during transport, all while supporting local businesses. Not much incentive to slow down there...
