Bite: the Big Ones

04.17.2009

The Bite:
Over the last 3 months, we've given you the lowdown on stuff like lube to share with your luvah and preggo-lady sunscreen (you know, in case the lube worked out for ya). Some made you feel like saying, "Awesome, possum," and others made you think, "Roadkill." Off we go...

The Big One:
The One You Loved:
Veggiecentric resto Sutra. Was it the tasty, ever-changing, prix-fixe menu; the cozy communal seating; or the sexy subject line? Regardless, you guys were all over this Wallingford eatery that can satisfy even the biggest steak lover. Runner-up: Seattle Green Festival.

The One We Loved:
Take-'n'-bake pizza from 'Zaw. Yeah, we know we've been overrun with new pizza joints lately, but we dig the hot-from-our-own-oven concept. Runner-up: groovy totes from Crystalyn Kae. Hi, our name is Seattle Bite, and we're bag-aholics.

Best Non-Fort-Related Blanket Usage:
Donating it to the Seattle Humane Society. If we could bring all of the homeless animals home with us, we would. 'Til then, we'll give 'em all our old blankets and towels to stay comfy.

Cocktail Fact

Seattleites buy more sunglasses per capita than any other city in the nation.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters actually did eat a vegetarian meal instead of one with meat, we saved 11 million gallons of water.

In the past 2 weeks on this site I have seen "bitch", "titties" and now references to lube and pregnancy. This slant to the postings is immature and unprofessional, and unrelated to the primary goals of the site. I sent a complaint email 2 weeks ago which received no reply, and apparently no notice, so I am now unsubscribing. It's a shame. I subscribed because as property manager of a Seattle office building, I try to influence the behavior of my 800 tenants by educating them about conservation. So in essence, you've just lost 800 subscribers who might have changed our little corner of the world. It's impossible to change people when you alienate them first.
