Aiming lids toward the recycling bin? If they're less than 3 inches wide or detached from a metal can, hold your fire - Seattle can't recycle those guys. Small caps can jam machinery and contaminate other recyclables (mixing different types of plastics), increasing the cost of sorting. Instead, drop your plastic twist-on caps at an Aveda store, and it'll ensure they get turned into new bottles and caps. For cans, leave lids attached and push 'em down inside to recycle. Bull's-eye.
