The Bite:
Tough enough to stare down stress? Not likely - unless, of course, you can sneeze with your eyes open. So check out the monthly Roaring Mouse Laughter Club meeting this Thursday and say peace out to those laptop-induced headaches. Sounds ridic, but being silly's the point of activities like the laughter handshake (shake hands with your neighbors and, um, laugh), high fives, and tag. Cracking up during the 50-minute laughter yoga sessions (which include gentle stretching and deep breathing - but no spandex or bendy poses) helps boost your immune system, decrease stress-causing hormones, and release endorphins for up to 24 hours after the meeting. Plus, no meds = a roundhouse kick to chems making their way into our rivers and drinking water.
Wanna Try:
Roaring Mouse Laughter Club; Apr. 2, 7 pm; Roaring Mouse Creative Arts Studio, 7526 20th Ave. NE. Map It (206-784-9776). Meeting, $3.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters turn to laughter yoga for stress and headache relief instead of popping a couple of pills, we'll keep the weight of nearly 16 Chihuahuas in meds from potentially leaching into our drinking water.
