Fest Side Story

03.23.2009

The Bite:
Feeling pretty and witty and…green? Jet on over to Seattle's second annual Green Festival this weekend. In addition to 350 booths from green orgs and businesses (including some of our faves, like Alchemy Goods, Spun, and Good Clean Love), this year, get the low-down on indoor composting or green home remodeling, talk eco-chocolate with the peeps from Theo, or check out Garbage to Gold, where artist Kuros Zahedi will create artwork out of nonrecyclable waste from the fest. Also: Take a break in the organic beer and wine garden, imbibing local bevs from The Pike Brewing Company and Snoqualmie winery. And if you ride your bike or the bus, you'll get five bucks off admission. Music(al) to our ears.

Cocktail Fact

The musical West Side Story borrowed its plot from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters bike to the Green Festival rather than driving, we'll avert the carbon emissions from 143 road trips from Seattle to Portland and back.
