Paraben-Free Hand Wash

Give 'em a Hand (Wash)

10.23.2009

The Bite:
Want soap worthy of your applause? (Are we really the only ones that cheer for toiletries?) Put your hands together for Dani Natural Products' brand-new hand wash. These veggie-based, biodegradable pump soaps come in five scents - Grapefruit Ginger, Lemongrass Lavender, Passionfruit, Pear, and Plum Flower - and are made in Oregon with PNW-sourced ingredients, free of SLS and parabens (common in regular soaps). Plus, the suds have no artificial colors, dyes, or fragrances, and come in recyclable containers. Bravo.
Why Care?:
Parabens can interfere with the production of our bodies' natural hormones, and SLS can cause skin irritation - so it's best to steer clear when possible
We like the fresh, clean scent that lingers from the Grapefruit Ginger variety so much that we've gotten a little OCD about sudsing up.
Wanna Try:
Dani Natural Products, available online or at Metropolitan Market locations. Hand wash, $10/8 ounces.

Cocktail Fact

A study by the American Society for Microbiology found that 25% of men and 10% of women don't wash their hands after using public bathrooms.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters use a bottle of paraben-free hand soap rather than standard soap, we'll keep 12 1/2 bathtubs full of potentially harmful chems off our bodies.

I am so confused by the "biter flair"... "I'm an SUVegan" and "I'm a Vegeleather" seem to be mocking individuals and seem to be contrary to ideal bite's main purpose at the same time.. I'm so confused. Doesn't ideal bite oppose the driving of SUV's, promote the idea of eating less meat and is against the use of leather products?! These "labels" seem like things one might not be so proud of, or at least one might not show off the fact that they drive an SUV in times like these.. Ahhh maybe it is supposed to be a joke and I just don't get it?
