What kind of success have you seen with the group format?
KR: Having a community of Earth-minded moms as a resource fosters and encourages lifestyle changes that reduce carbon footprints. Personally, I have found it a wonderful way to connect with like-minded people around an issue I care about.
What's your favorite eco-activity to do with your kids?
KM: Unscheduled play by the beach with nothing more than nature's abundant toys at hand: driftwood, sea shells, sand, and stones.
KR: We like to stay close to home, walk on the beach, pick local blackberries, and garden.
What's your eco pet peeve?
KR: I hate giant SUVs parked in compact parking spaces more than anything else on the planet. They make my blood boil.
What's your eco-confession?
KM: Driving 1-2 times a week. I think it should be less. I've got a great
Xtracycle but am too lazy to haul groceries and two kids on it up steep hills. Milk and kids are heavy uphill!
KR: My house has a small pool that we sometimes heat (slightly). We purchased the most energy efficient heater available and only run it a few months of the year.
