Cupcake Wrappers

Have Your Cupcake and Eat It Too

06.17.2009

The Bite:
Wanna have it both ways - make cupcakes as pretty as they are tasty? (What did you think we meant?) Can do - just batter up in Bella Cupcake Couture cupcake wrappers. These textile-inspired recycled paper cups come in three fab designs - LuLu, Olivia, and our fave, Hannah (see photo). They're printed locally with soy-based inks in six vibrant color combos (we like blue and chocolate brown, which looks pretty sweet with vanilla frosting). Just grease up the pan to bake (no wrappers needed), pop 'cakes into the cups postbaking, and it's a win-win deal.
Why Care?:
Using soy-based inks rather than conventional, petroleum-based ones conserves oil and emits fewer nasty VOCs, and opting for recycled paper keeps more trees standing.
We'd love to paper our walls with these guys but'll have to settle for pimping out our next order from Cupcake Royale with the combo pack.
Wanna Try:
Bella Cupcake Couture, available online and at Curtsy Bella, 2920 NE Blakeley St., Ste. A (206-523-3221). Combo pack, $20/18 wrappers.

Cocktail Fact

The World League of Competitive Eating record for cupcake consumption is 34 cupcakes in 10 minutes.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters opt for a dozen cupcake wrappers made from recycled paper instead of conventional ones, we'll keep the weight of 100 Easy Bake Ovens in new materials outta production.
