Mad Dog

The Bite:
imageIs your pup going nuts while you're doing the nine-to-five? Don't make him beg - hook him up with Seattle Green Dogs, Lori Campion's eco-friendly dog-walking service. After an initial meet-'n'-greet, Lori'll pick up your pooch (she's working on switching her biodiesel vehicle to use reclaimed veggie oil fuel), snap on a hemp leash, and take him for an hour-plus walk with other dogs on and off leash at local dog parks. (If your pup's more of a lone wolf, she does solo strolls.) She also scoops the poop with compostable BioBags, pampers the pups with locally made Simon and Huey organic treats, and scrubs muddy paws with Dr. Bronner's organic soaps. Crazy.

Seattle Green Dogs (206-679-8806), $27/hour walk, monthly rates available, call or email for more info.

Cocktail Fact

According to the American Kennel Club's 2007 figures, the three most popular breeds in Seattle are Labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, and Yorkshire terriers.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters use compostable poop bags instead of regular bags, we'll conserve 172 kiddie (or doggie) pools full of oil.
