The Bite:
Wanna set a table worthy of Martha Stewart's worship? Religiously use cloth napkins (fancy folding optional) from Tote2Go's new line of Scrappy Naps. The colorful crumb-catchers are made from fabric leftovers from T2G's line of totes - and those bad boys are made from 100% cotton sheets and duvet covers sourced from local thrift shops. These 17-inch square naps are great for everyday use and can even hold their own at dinner parties. They're sold in sets of four in fun prints like turquoise plaid and pink Hawaiian florals. Heavenly.
Why Care?:
Ditching the paper napkin habit means preserving trees and your conscience. Plus, most thrift stores toss their unsold items in the trash, so products made from rescued fabric keep it outta landfills.
We bought a few sets of these babies, so we could do the mix-and-match thing (plus, we feel so much fancier now using these instead of paper napkins).
Wanna Try:
Tote2Go Snappy Naps, available at Eat Local, 2400 Queen Anne Ave N. (206-328-3663). Cloth napkins, $15/4.

Cocktail Fact

Based on the concept that some of the greatest ideas were sketched on a cocktail napkin, Napkin Notebook gives you a bound version to keep up with all your profundities (or wipe your mouth).

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters use cloth napkins once a week for a year instead of paper ones, we'll keep 374 trees standing.
