The Bite:
Voulez-vous coucher ce soir? (Just sleep.) If stress is keeping you up (tax day, anyone?), Rouge Aromatics' skin care can help you catch some z's. Handcrafted by a certified aromatherapist, stuff like RA's Calm Me bath salts and aromatic balms (seven scents - try rubbing them into your temples) are soothingly scented with a blend of organic essential oils, like lavender, geranium, and we've-never-heard-of-it-either spikenard, that tell your brain to chill. You can(can) rest easy knowing the products are free from synthetic fragrances, petroleum, and parabens.
Why Care?:
Most conventional skin care products contain toxic chems like possible carcinogen petroleum distillates, parabens (found in the tissue of breast cancer tumors), and phthalates, which can cause reproductive problems.
We also use the forest-smelling Ground Me scented balm as a moisturizer.
Wanna Try:
Rouge Aromatics, available online or at Bouncing Wall, 2225 Queen Anne Ave. N. (206-285-9255). Calm Me bath salts, $12/6-ounce jar; Calm Me aromatic balm $9/1-ounce tin.

Cocktail Fact

Courtney Love was up for Nicole Kidman's role in Moulin Rouge.

Small Changes Add Up

If 10,000 Seattle Biters use a paraben-free body balm rather than a conventional one, we'll keep the weight of more than four cancan dancers in chems off our bods and outta production.
