What were the biggest bites of early 2008?

The Bite

So far this year, we've tipped topics from water heaters to weed-eating goats. You nibbled, snacked, and occasionally feasted on a few - here are the Bites you savored most. Drumroll, please...

The Benefits

  • Most Popular Topic: Earth Hour. You Biters read and forwarded our tip on the March 28 global lights-out party more than any other. We'll bring you info on more global eco-events over the next year. Runner-up: Getting off of catalog mailing lists.
  • Most Popular Wanna Try?: Green dream jobs. The chance to scope out sustainable job offerings really had you clicking (we promise not to tell your current boss). Runner-up: Catalog Choice catalog junk-mail service.
  • Most Controversial Topic: Reusable menstrual cups. While not the funnest topic ever, lady-gadgets such as the DivaCup made more noise in the blog and via email than any other tip in early 2008 (scroll down to see blog comments). Runner-up: The meat recall tip.

Personally Speaking

If all 211,000 Biters cut their catalog intake by 100%, we'll avert CO2 equal to taking 1,393 cars off the roads for a year.
