Want to attract stunning butterflies while contributing to your local ecosystem?

The Bite:
Attract colorful butterflies regardless of the color of your thumb. Create a butterfly garden by planting nectar-rich flowers in the full sun.
The Benefits:
  • Butterflies are an important part of the ecosystem. They pollinate plants and are food sources for many birds, mammals, amphibians, spiders and other insects.
  • It's good for you. Many studies have shown the positive effects of nature on mental health and stress levels.
  • It's pretty. Butterfly gardens can contain green plants, colorful flowers, rocks, ponds, and oh yeah . . . bright colorful butterflies.
Personally Speaking:
Whether you have six acres of land or a six-square-foot fire escape, you can grow flowering plants that attract butterflies. We like planting monarda (aptly called Bee Balm) and flowering herbs -- both of which grow in either the ground or small containers.
Wanna Try:
Determine your local butterfly species and the flora and fauna on which they rely by visiting Butterfly World then throw some plants in some soil, water them regularly, and see what shows up.

Cocktail Fact

Butterflies cannot fly if their body temperature is less than 86 degrees.
