If we said, "Open your mouth and close your eyes," what would you guess was coming?

The Bite:
Hint: It's our logo! Okay, so maybe we won't take a bite out of it before forcing it down your windpipe. Anywho, fall weather means apples are in season, and you know we're all about eating in-season. So come on, take a bite of a locally-grown apple ASAP.
The Benefits:
  • Since they're in season right now, apples don't have to travel from farms on the other side of the world, meaning fewer transportation-related emissions.
  • Apples are among our top sources for flavonoids, which lower the risk of heart disease and some cancers.
  • They're the most popular fruit in the world for a reason. Red, green or yellow, they're nature's candy and super-easy to pack for peeps on the go.
Personally Speaking:
Sara had a whole orchard in her backyard growing up, which was the setting for many of her most formative experiences. Ahem.
Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

In ancient Greece, a man proposed to a woman by throwing an apple her way. If she caught it, it meant she accepted. (Heather and Jen apparently have bad hand-eye coordination.)

Bang For The Bite

If 10,000 Biters bite a locally grown apple this fall, they'll save enough oil to fill the tanks of 19 Hummers in place of transporting conventionally-grown apples.
