Is it time to rinse away the idea of washing your hair everyday?

10.06.2005

The Bite:
So the shampoo bottle says "Lather, rinse, repeat," but is that really necessary? (Let's rethink). No one needs to shampoo their hair twice in one day. In fact, according to experts, washing once every two days is usually plenty.
The Benefits:
  • Doesn't strip away all the natural oils (sebum) from your scalp.
  • The US hair care industry was worth over $6 billion in 2004. That's a lot of waste in packing and distribution that could be curbed with a little conservation.
  • Using less shampoo means that you have more money to spend on other things like rubber duckies...
Personally Speaking:
Truthfully, we should both probably wash our hair more than we do, so we're saving bundles on shampoo these days.
Wanna Try:
Step away from the shampoo bottle and nobody will get hurt:

Cocktail Fact

The average person has about 100,000 hairs on their head.
