Believe in a woman's right to choose to avoid bladder infections?

The Bite:

You go, grrrl! Go pee after sex, that is, to avoid urinary tract infections (UTIs) and skip the antibiotics. Post-coital feminists, urine luck.

The Benefits:

Less sufferage. Peeing after sex helps clear away germs that can get pushed up the urinary tract during sex. . .and UTIs well, suck.
Women's lib from superbugs. Sometimes you actually do need medication to get rid of UTIs, but overuse of antibiotics is causing bacterial resistance.
Saving a trip to the gyno. You'll avoid burning gas for the trip, as well as the awkward, just-went-horseback-riding-without-a-saddle shuffle to the doctor's office.

Personally Speaking:

During college, Jen's mom commented how it was weird Jen was getting UTIs when she wasn't having sex...meanwhile, Hilary was singlehandedly keeping the cranberry pill industry afloat.

Just do it - even if that means you gotta get a bedpan.

Thanks for opening this discussion and giving the useful tips on the problem.I absolutely agree with you that it's better keeping preventive measures instead of receiving a long lasting treatment. Stresses, coffee, tight clothes, low immunity and even misusing of sex toys- all these may cause a bladder infection to occur sometimes. So, pay more attention to your life-style and be healthy!
