The Bite:
A James Bond for the 21st century needs a 21st century-style drink. Organic cocktails should do just the trick, seeing as excellent options are now widely available. Cheers to that! (And for those of you not IM-adept, check out today's blog if you haven't yet figured out the opening acronym.)
The Benefits:
  • The taste. Celebs (like Leo DiCaprio and Stella McCartney) and critics alike are singing the praises of these new organic liquors.
  • Forgo harmful chemicals and pesticides. Production of grain used in a typical alcohol may include chemicals like chlorothalonil, lindane, fonofos, and dimethoate - all potential carcinogens and/or hormone disruptors.
  • Organic farming uses less water and emits about 60% less carbon into the atmosphere.
  • Everybody's been to a tropical- or Rat Pack-themed cocktail party. Host an organic cocktail party - it's original, and guests will thank you for letting them forgo the costume and the pesticides.
Personally Speaking:
The whole Biter team taste-tested Square One Organic Vodka at a recent team retreat. It went down smoothly, for sure, but a friendly warning: organic vodka doesn't mean gentler hangovers. Ouch!
Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

The word "toast," meaning a wish of good health, started in ancient Rome, where a piece of toasted bread was dropped into wine.

Bang For The Bite

Crowd pleasing and great for the planet... but the "O" word's sometimes followed by the "C" word: costly.
