Got some spare parts to give to the body shop?

07.13.2007

The Bite:
Most of us have some spare blood or hair, or even part of an organ hanging around that we can probably live without. So don't sell your body - instead, donate spare parts to somebody who's in the shop.
The Benefits:
  • Save someone's life. Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood; others need new organs to stay alive.
  • Curbing global warming. It's hot outside. Shave your head and donate your hair to charity; you can turn down the A/C a bit, plus save shampoo and washing time.
  • Free cookies and donuts. Complimentary sweets are part of the blood-donating deal.
Personally Speaking:
Never scared of needles as a kid, Ideal Bite team member Sara organized all the blood drives at her college. And since donating is cleansing (it motivates the body to produce fresh blood cells), she tries to donate every 56 days.
Wanna Try:

Cocktail Fact

Hospitals, schools, and research institutions will pay up to $220,000 for a fully loaded cadaver.

Bang For The Bite

It's hard to beat the feeling that comes with helping someone out, but there is that whole needles/scissors/under- the-knife thing.
