Mind if someone slobbers on your blanket?

The Bite:
Not if you were getting rid of it anyway, right? Take used items such as towels or Granny's fur coat to a nearby animal shelter, where cats, dogs, rabbits, and other animals can use them as bedding. You save landfill space and get closer to losing your buzz-kill reputation.
The Benefits: 
  • Sheltering shelters from the financial crisis. Donating will help free up needed funds for other uses, such as health care.
  • Fur-getting guilt over trash. Tattered towels might otherwise end up in the landfill.
Personally Speaking: 
In haste, Jen bought a big, cheap, puffy poly-fill jacket when she moved to chilly MT a few years ago. When it came time to retire it, it was too shabby for Goodwill, but not for her local animal shelter.
Wanna Try: 
  • Find a shelter and call ahead to see which items it accepts, then take blankets, furs, jackets, pillows, and towels their way.
  • Humane Society - its Coats for Cubs program accepts used furs through the mail. Or bring them to any Buffalo Exchange store and it'll donate them for you.
  • Many animal shelters will also accept cleaning supplies, pet food, plastic bags, and used gloves.

I volunteer at our local animal shelter and they also accept newspapers which they shred for bedding. Also, they accept paper towel/toilet paper cardboard roll which they use as "new" chew toys for the puppies.

this is definitely a great thing. Anything to help the local dog shelter is good. I am going to start donating my towels to the dog shelter. Promotional products
